Sustainability

Goals

To provide sustainable packaging solutions that are easily recyclable & marked for easy identification.

Visions

Work closely with our suppliers to ensure our product packaging is sourced from recycled materials & is recyclable.

Targets

Our aim to comply with APCO guidelines and we are committed to 2025 packaging targets.

What have we changed?

Along the journey, we’re made a few small changes which have some pretty big impacts when scaled across multiple products. See some examples below.

Example Image

Phasing out Polystyrene

Traditionally used to protect tool boxes & large bulky items within their boxes for safe transit. Polystyrene is recycleable however needs to be dropped at specific recycle points so often finds it’s way into landfill. As such we have replaced it’s use in our supply chain with Moulded Cardboard, which is easier for most people to recycle.

Recycling Bags

Clear plastic storage bags & resealable bags have been changed to a recyclable plastic. In many cases, we have been able to switch away from using plastic bags all together.

Example Image

Less ink usage on Large Cartons

For large printed cartons, we are switching away from full colour printing. This saves heavily on the amount of ink used, meaning less resource useage across our supply chain.

Example Image

Recycled Hangtags

The hangtags which we use on ratchets, sockets & screwdrivers have been switched to an 80% recycled PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled ) plastic, meaning they are made of mostly recycled plastic. Additionally, they are fully recyclable in your local council kerbside recycling bin.

Phasing out Full Blister Packaging

To reduce the amount of plastic in hanging plastic shelled products (Often referred to as Blister packaging), we’ve replaced these with a similar style pack which features more paperboard, which is more recycleable.

Quality Tools - A great way to reduce waste

Example Image

Whilst there’s some great reductions to be made by changing the type of packaging we put our products in which we will continue to explore, we believe one of the greatest ways to save on waste is built into the brand itself - We strive to sell tools that you buy once and use for a lifetime.
